"Matica slovenská, MS" (English: Slovak matrix), simply referred to as
"Matica" is a nationwide cultural institution based in
Martin ). It was established at its first assembly, which was held on August
4, 1863 although it traces its origins to June 6 and 7, 1861 during the
"Slovenskom národnom zhromaždení" (Slovak National Assembly) issued a political
program known as the "Memorandum národa slovenského" (Memorandum of the Slovak
Nation) and with it formulated a demand for the establishment of a Slovak
cultural association.
On November 12, 1875, the Hungarian government
banned Matica. The organization resumed activities on January 1, 1919.
Currently, it is governed by "Zákonom o Matici slovenskej" (Act on Matica
Slovak) no. 68/1997 (https://www.slov-lex.sk/ezbierky/pravne-predpisy/SK/ZZ/1997/68)
of February 13 and the "Stanovami Matice slovenskej" (Statutes of Slovak matrix)
and

It currently has 505 local departments, 15 science and interest departments and
240 folklore ensembles.

The logo seems not to be always centered
vertically, although there are examples of centering, so it is probably meant to
be its default position.
Vertical flag with this logo also exists, with
varying ratio and vertical position of the logo:

It may be paired with the vertical
version of the national flag:

There are also examples of its pairing
with the vertical version of the EU flag:

It is frequently rotated for 90 degrees and
hoisted like a horizontal flag:
